Existing Conditions

Why Document Existing Conditions?
Documenting the existing or "baseline" conditions of a corridor helps the project team quantify the changes, or "impacts," associated with a proposed action. The baseline conditions provide the context for evaluating environmental consequences. Analyzing the existing conditions also helps the project team better understand the corridor travel needs. This analysis will be used in developing the Needs Assessment Report and the Environmental Impact Statement.
