Public Involvement

GDOT and GRTA recognize the complexity of this project and expect a high level of public interest and involvement.  The revive285 top end Public Involvement Team hopes to:

Involve the public in defining the issues, identifying potential solutions, and selecting a final preferred alternative(s).

Evaluate public concerns and issues and provide feedback on how the public input influenced the process and the final solution.

Provide the public with accurate, timely, and relevant information to assist them in understanding the problems, alternatives, and/or solutions.

Blue ArrowWhen and how does the public get involved?

GDOT’s plan development process (GPDP) ensures that the public has adequate access and engagement with transportation projects.  Throughout the project, information is updated and made accessible through the media, online, via email and mail.  The public is also invited to ask questions, comment, and participate in surveys.  As the project approaches critical decision making milestones, input opportunites such as Public Information Open Houses (PIOHs) are made available for citizens to engage, discuss and comment.

Blue ArrowWhat happens to my comments, suggestions and questions when I submit them?

All comments, phone calls and suggestions, etc. are recorded and documented. They are then shared with, reviewed by and responded to by the project team. All comments received are included in the Draft Environmental Impact Statement and the official record.

Blue ArrowWhat if I miss a Public Information Open House or just heard about the project recently?

All project information, including documents, videos, survey results, commenting summaries, PIOH materials and meeting notes are archived in the Project Library for your convenience.  In addition, citizens may be represented by a local organization such as a homeowners association on the Citizen's Advisory Committee.
